Rocks that are often found in gold exploration

Argillic
Identifying rocks that are often encountered in mineral and gold exploration, including their associated minerals, is an asset for anyone who will go into the field to explore gold. This matter has been provided at a young age while in the study bench, namely through the Petrology course.

There, in petrology lessons, the origin of rocks formed from the aggregation of silica, feldspar and mica minerals is introduced. So that it becomes the basic capital before leaving for the field for exploration.

The following side above image is an example of a rock is argillic with minerals of alunite, dickite and smectite, illite, thats content of gold and silver.

In addition to rocks, it is also equipped with knowledge about natural events that are recorded through what is visible and can be picked up. Such as geological structure, stratigraphy, topography of the research site.

What kind of rocks that often associate with gold resources on the earth formation so far as per your experience during the works period.

May I share for the small think that i found the rocks with associate gold.

Like what I have encountered while working in the field of gold exploration, so many rocks are associated with gold traps in nature on a primary basis. I differentiate between primary gold trap and secondary gold trap Or alluvial gold.

Primary gold is generally located around volcanic rocks and quartz rock inserts. However , the original rock has undergone transformation or changed its mineralization . Medium events that occur can be due to hydrothermal or metasomatism, or porpiritization.

The altered rock will exhibit different physical and chemical properties from the original rock.

Epithermal gold deposit traps are generally indicated by the presence of a number of signs that a hot liquid will have passed through the formation and that is called mineralization.

While the signs include the presence of certain rocks and minerals, for example: Argilic, Pyrite, Chalcopyrite, Galena, Hematite, Luzonite.

These rock markings indicate that there has been a hot situation here and brought natural magmatic fluids called hydrothermal fluids that are capable of transforming the original rock formations into new ones. This process is called Metasomatism resulting from the Hydrothermal process.

Metasomatism itself is the process of changing the chemical properties of rocks into new ones.

All of the above processes occur in a hot room situation and move quickly according to the pressure and temperature that occurs at that time.

Nature's concept is

"from hot to cold while moving and not like cooking rice from cold to hot to cooked"

The opportunity for cooking of wall rocks through which hydrothermal fluids pass is from the first touch to the freezing point of the minerals contained.

Now gold has a high freezing point value of 1060 degrees, so gold will form when the magmatic fluid object is still really hot, not after it cools down. It's another mineral iron for example.

And then followed by other minerals silver, copper, lead, tin, nickel , iron and zinc and aluminum.
