Don't Say Good Rock Before Check Lab
High grade Quartz Layer combine slate rocks |
This story is from personal experience and friends who have shared their experiences. It is about good rock from a sample that does not necessarily contain gold or other minerals. So don't ever feel like you've found a prospect location when you find rocks that you think are good.
It's best to be patient until it's time for the laboratory test results for the good rock samples to come.
One day when I was surveying an area and brought samples of rock samples which geologists generally call them good rocks. The appearance is Quartz which has a texture and blah blah blah, the point is of course it contains gold levels of several ppm.
After that, I quickly reconstructed around the rock outcrop location and made a map of the prospect location. As a result I can construct and determine volume estimates and estimate the amount of reserves contained at the site locally.
Have fun for a while before you get to town and can send samples to a registered laboratory.
It has then reported one such work and that it has found a prospect site by pointing out a good rock.
In this case, of course, the boss or boss feels he has received a positive and very encouraging report.

How do you feel or your thoughts after seeing the reality of the laboratory results are just ordinary, not excited results.
Of course, you will be disappointed and become moody, confused and somewhere else want to ask and ask for feedback to discuss what you are experiencing.
Actually, it's not a taboo or strange thing, it just happened because things haven't reached a certain level of my work at that time. The term flight hours is not enough to quickly assess rocks or samples.
This is where the need for work experience and a lot of learning from seniors or studying at a longer temperature there.
So What Do You Do
So be patient and it's better to think about a variety of knowledge about what could relate to the rock sample you brought. For example, think about what minerals are contained instead of seeing the color, texture and reaction after you test it manually, with a knife, with a stretcher and with HCL and so on.
Then further think about the possibilities that can occur with these rocks, how they are formed. Is it because of hydrothermal? or because the heating is caused by friction or faults? or just an intrusion that causes it.
Searching and finding out what happened with the rock samples that you brought, before heading to the laboratory is an added value for you in managing survey work and managing rock samples you find.
Thus, everything that can have various possibilities is already in your head and next time just waiting for the results from the registered laboratory.
